Michael Hoffman walked, not ran, onto Pensacola Beach with a sour grimace on his face and his hand on his tiny tummy. It wasn't how the 9-year-old envisioned finishing the Double Bridge Run 15K race on Saturday. Standing with his mother, Jackie Hoffman, in the morning chill before the big run, Michael said his goal was to average 11 minutes per mile over the length of the 9.3-mile course — about 1 hour and 40 minutes.
